Saathi – Safe Route Finder is a web app built using Java Spring Boot that empowers users—especially women & child and daily commuters—to make safer travel decisions. By leveraging geolocation, risk mapping, and user-generated testimonials, Saathi provides:

• Risk-aware routes using OpenRouteService
• Reverse geocoded place-saving with Nominatim
• Area safety reporting through testimonials
• Emergency SOS alert system
• Emergency contact management
• Secure user authentication and password reset via JavaMailSender

When you send a request with your source and destination addresses (along with the mode of travel), the system does the following:

• Uses OpenRouteService to generate a route.
• Samples points along the route to check which areas are high-risk.
• Identifies cities or localities with the help of reverse geocoding.
• Matches those locations against risk data and community testimonials.
